The National Economic Council (NEC), chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima, approved nominations for the Board of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company of Nigeria on Thursday.
Announcing the resolutions, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf stated that the company had been operating without a board for some time.
Briefing State House correspondents, he said, “After deliberations, the Council approved the nominations of the following from the six geopolitical zones: the Governor of Borno from the Northeast, Katsina from the Northwest, Imo from the Southeast, Ekiti from the Southwest, Kwara from the North Central, and Akwa Ibom from the South-South.”

Governor Yusuf emphasized the importance of cooperation, saying, “We expect the management of the company to accord the board members the needed support so that they can work together for the good of all.”
