In a commendable move, Naira Marley, the talented Nigerian musician, has taken a courageous stand against drug abuse.
The controversial singer, whose real name is Azeez Adeshina Fashola, has joined forces with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to help spread awareness about the dangers of substance abuse in Nigeria.
This campaign called the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA), aims to curb drug abuse and its negative impact on society.
In an official statement released by NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, it was announced that Naira Marley is now part of the WADA advocacy campaign.
The agency also tweeted a picture of the music star with the Chairman/CEO of the NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), during his visit to the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.

In a heartfelt message, Naira Marley urged his fans, known as Marlians, and all Nigerian youths to steer clear of drugs.
“Let us stop substance abuse in any form,” he said in a video tweeted by the agency.
“It makes you go back into crime; it does a lot of things to you. I have keyed into this campaign to support the NDLEA to stop drugs on the streets. Please, join us. It is really not good for your well-being.”
This is not the first time Naira Marley has made headlines.
The singer faced an 11-count charge last year related to card fraud, but he has since used his platform to promote positivity and discourage drug abuse.
With his new partnership with NDLEA, Naira Marley is proving that he is not just a talented musician, but also a responsible and conscious citizen.
