On Wednesday, in the ongoing 7th National Youth Games, the Anambra Team won their third gold medal thanks to the incredible performance of Favour Obiefuna in the female high jump event.
Obiefuna demonstrated her exceptional skills by leaping to a personal best of 1.57m, securing the top spot and beating her closest rival from Delta who took the second position.
The spectators at the Stephen Keshi Stadium were ecstatic as they cheered her on in unison.

In an interview, Obiefuna expressed her joy and excitement, saying that during her training, she used to jump 1.43m but was determined to clinch the gold medal at the games.
She even attempted to jump 1.59m, but her coach advised her to stop after her successful jump of 1.57m.
Moreover, Chiamaka Nwankwo from Anambra also made it to the final of the 200m sprint event after finishing at the top in the semi-finals for girls.
This achievement has further boosted the morale of the Anambra Team.
Lastly, Olude Kehinde won the gold medal for Ogun in the 1,500m event, which was also held on the same day.
The sports event continues to provide an excellent platform for young athletes to showcase their talents and compete at the highest level.
