Azeez Adeshina Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, on Tuesday proclaimed his innocence on the allegations made against him over the death of the late artiste Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba “Mohbad”.
Naira Marley made the proclamation in a document signed by him on his Instagram page on Tuesday.
Naira Marley, the head of Marlian records was the former boss of the late Mohbad as he had come into limelight under the marlian records as its signee.
However, there had been disputes between the late rapper which eventually led to his exit from the record in 2022.
Amid speculations by Nigerians, the Marlian boss had been alleged of being involved in the untimely death of the late Mohbad.
According to several reports, Mohbad who died on September 12 had been at loggerheads with his ex-boss. Some other sources also claimed the late artiste was beaten by marlian boys at a show few weeks prior to his death.
While reacting to the allegations on his Instagram page, Naira Marley said the allegations against him were unfounded and baseless adding that it was an onslaught to his reputation.
He stated that although he and Mohbad had misunderstandings over issues, it never culminated to the point of wishing him death.
He also denied all allegations of physically attacking the late artiste at any time during his lifetime, his record label being a drug cartel amongst others, stating that his record label was a legitimate one that focuses on genuine talent hunt.
He stressed that his prolonged silence over Mohbad’s death was not that of guilt but due to being distraught over the death of his late colleague.
However, he declared that he was ready to cooperate with the police in the course of investigation, stating that he is making arrangements to return to country as he is away from the country at the moment.
He also condoled with the late singer’s family and urged people to be mindful of peddling rumors in the course of seeking justice for Mohbad.
He added that people should support the police and relevant authorities with useful information that will aid them in apprehending the perpetrators and exonerate him.
