The National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS) has stated that justice is the only solution to quell the unrest that has arisen from the tragic and mysterious death of popular hip-hop singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known by the stage name Mohbad.
Mr Hammed Oyelade, the newly elected President of NAOSS, made this declaration in Akure on Friday, shortly after his appointment to lead the association for the next year.
The 27-year-old singer passed away on September 12 under unclear circumstances, prompting widespread suspicion and outrage from Nigerian youths across the country.
Mr Oyelade emphasized the importance of obtaining justice for Mohbad as it would greatly restore the confidence of Nigerian youths in the government’s ability to provide justice for all.
He called for a thorough investigation by both the police and the Lagos Government, stating that this matter should not be taken lightly, and urged the administration of President Bola Tinubu to take an active interest in the case.
Mr Oyelade also urged President Tinubu to establish an independent probe panel to unravel the truth about the death of the young artist, as only justice can ease the tension and restore the confidence of young Nigerians in the country.

The NAOSS President commended the Lagos State Government and the police command in Lagos State for initiating an investigative panel to unearth the truth behind Mohbad’s death.
He also called for transparency and regular updates from the panel and the government, stating that Nigerian youths were looking forward to a speedy investigation that would lead to a fair and logical outcome.
Mr Oyelade also expressed his gratitude to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo for his efforts in ensuring that residents of the state were not left out in the distribution of fuel subsidy removal palliatives.
He applauded the state’s Transportation Palliative Initiative and stated that public servants and students would be relieved by the distribution of food items and other forms of aid to vulnerable people in the state.
The NAOSS President pledged to revitalize the association and ensure that its dignity with integrity was well-maintained.
He outlined a range of innovative programs that the association would host, including technological events, economic summits, and security summits, to empower its members.
He also promised to pursue scholarship and bursary benefits from the government, corporate organizations, and individuals for NAOSS members.
Mr Oyelade called on his co-contestants and other members of the association to join him in achieving these lofty programs.
