He reflected on Chelsea’s previous losses, stating, “We never thought we would win every game. We lost on August 18, and then after two months, and then after two months. But we know the reality is not just to lose one game every two months. It’s a matter of how we react and try to go again.”
Looking Ahead to Ipswich
With an eye on the upcoming match against Ipswich, Maresca is looking to leverage the squad’s depth, which has been particularly successful in the Europa Conference League. The team has not lost a single game in European competition this season, which could influence team selections in the upcoming Premier League fixture.

Given the congested fixture list during December, Maresca plans to make changes to the lineup. “For sure we are going to change something,” he confirmed, highlighting the need for player recovery and readiness, especially with eight or nine games played in a short span.
Madueke’s Opportunity
Noni Madueke, who was omitted from the squad for the Fulham game, is set to have a chance to prove himself against Ipswich. Maresca has high expectations for the England international, noting, “He responded very good at that time so there is no more than that. I expect the same this time, absolutely,” referencing Madueke’s performance after a previous benching where he scored in a match against Southampton.
