1. Late Afro Beat Legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti Was Arrested For The Second Time
On this day in 1993, the late afro beat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti was arrested for the second time on the suspicion of murder. He was arrested alongside three of bis workers.
He was alleged to have murdered his worker, late Osokoya, however he was later released due to insufficient evidences to prove him guilty.
2. The Suez Canal Was Reopened By Egypt
On this day in 1957, following the withdrawal of the final Israeli troops from the country, Egypt opened the Suez Canal clearing the canla of debris and sunken ships.
3. Beirut Car Bombings
On this day in 1985, a car bomb exploded close to the house of Shia cleric Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah in Beirut, Lebanon, in a failed assassination attempt killing 80 people and injuring 200.
4. Indira Gandhi International Airport Collision
On this day in 1994, a Sahara India Airlines Boeing 737 crashed shortly after takeoff, and collided with an Aeroflot Ilyushin Il-86, which led to both aircraft being destroyed killing 9 people; 8 crew members on both planes were killed, along with one person on the ground.

On this day in 2014, Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, an international passenger plane en route from Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia to Beijing Capital International Airport in China disappeared from radar with 239 occupants never to be seen till date.
6. Women’s March In Mexico Turned Violent
On this day in 2021, an International Women’s Day march in Mexico turned violent leaving no fewer than 81 people including police officers injured in Mexico city alone.
