Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson briefly brought the visitors level in the second half, but despite their strong performance, the Blues suffered their first league defeat since their opening day loss to Manchester City.

The result puts Liverpool one point ahead of City and four clear of Arsenal, who they face next weekend at the Emirates. Despite the defeat, Chelsea showed promising signs and will look to bounce back in their quest for a top-four finish.

However, Jones restored Liverpool’s lead just minutes later with a well-timed finish. Chelsea pressed for an equalizer but couldn’t find a breakthrough, with the match ending in Liverpool’s favor.
