An Abuja-based lawyer, A. F. Obainike has been petitioned the Acting Inspector General of Police IGP, IG Kayode Egbetokun over forceful ejection of one Mr Christian Nwankwo from his shop at Wuse Market, in Abuja.
In the petition, Obainike claimed that Nwankwo has been a tenant at the said shop since 2003 only for one Diran Adetuye to spring up in 2011 to claim ownership of the same shop.
Following disagreement that ensued between the two, Mr. Adetuye reportedly dragged Nwankwo to before a magistrate court for three time but the case was dismissed in all.
The petitioner added, that not satisfied with the outcomes of the matter, Adetuye again sued Mr. Nwakwo in the name of Maryam Gidado Idris, whom he claimed was his principal where judgement was delivered in her favour in February 2023.

The lawyer said the judgement was appealed immediately by Christian who got an interim injunction for stay of execution until the determination of the substantive matter.
“But in a turn if events and again the rules of the court, Idris, along with her lawyer and court officials and police invaded the shop and forcefully carted away properties including cash in various denominations,” Obainike said.
The lawyer further complained that Idris alongside her group did not wait for the interim order to lapse before executing the the order of the magistrate court.
Obainike therefore appealed to the police boss to among others, ensure the return of the properties of Mr. Christian are safely returned, including the money that was carted away.
He also said the police at the Force Criminal Investigation Department had on several occasions invited his client on trump-up allegations which he described to be unfounded.
He also urged the police authorities to investigate those that took part in the illegal ejection of his client.
