A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has dismissed a defamation suit filed by Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi against the Taraba Truth and Facts Newspaper and its publisher, Oloye Ayodele Samuel.
Shiddi, who is popularly called Danji SS, was a ranking lawmaker representing Wukari-Ibbi Federal Constituency.
He had dragged the newspaper to the court demanding N10 billion for what he described as defamation of his character on alleged publication that a campaign vehicle belonging to him was caught with fire arms.
Justice Edward Okpe in striking out the suit, ruled that it was completely devoid of merit and ought not to have been filed in the first place.

Justice Okpe further ruled that the case lacked substance.
The Publisher of the Taraba-based newspaper, Oloye Samuel hailed the ruling, describing it as a good development and a sign of a fair judicial system.
Counsel to the defendant, Barrister P.D Pius congratulates the newspaper for the victory.
