Anyim Vera, the woman who was accused by Senior Pastor Paul Eneche of Dunamis International Gospel Centre in Abuja of providing false testimony, has spoken out.
On April 14, Vera approached the altar to share her testimony, claiming she was the “only graduate in her family” and that she had obtained a “BSc in Law” from the National Open University of Nigeria.
During her testimony, when Pastor Eneche inquired about the type of degree she had, she responded with “Law.” He probed further about the specific Law degree, and she replied “BSc in Law,” which led to his accusation of dishonesty.
In a statement on her Facebook page on April 15, Vera expressed that she was humiliated and branded a liar by her spiritual leader simply because she misspoke, saying “B.Sc” instead of “LLB” due to her limited English proficiency.
She also clarified that she graduated with a third-class degree from NOUN and was listed as number 2262 among the graduates.
She wrote: “It’s disheartened because I couldn’t speak English like lawyers. I was labelled a liar for mistakenly saying B.Sc instead of LLB.
Actually, I graduated with a Third Class at NOUN. “The rejected stone can become the cornerstone. We’re reminded not to look down on anyone.
U can’t imagine what I endured throughout the service. How shattered I must have felt to be disgraced by my spiritual leader in such a manner? “I am no. 2262 on the list.
I Vera deserves better now” In another post, she wrote: “The Devil came to steal my testimony, but Jesus said NO!” A photo on her Facebook page suggests she is a policewoman as she was seen adorned in their uniform.
