Pop star Justin Timberlake was arrested and arraigned on Tuesday on charges of driving while intoxicated in Sag Harbor, a chic town east of New York City, local media reported.
The 43-year-old Timberlake, renowned for hits such as “SexyBack” and “Cry Me a River,” was taken into custody in the affluent Hamptons community during the early hours of Tuesday morning.
According to CBS, which cited court documents, a police officer reported that Timberlake appeared “in an intoxicated condition” when he was stopped. The singer had driven through a stop sign and failed to remain on the right side of the road.
The officer described Timberlake’s eyes as “bloodshot and glassy” and noted that he “performed poorly on all standard field sobriety tests.” Timberlake allegedly admitted to having “one martini” and said he was following his friend’s home.
Local police did not immediately confirm the arrest when contacted by AFP.
