President Bola Tinubu has directed the immediate evacuation of residents in flood-affected areas of Maiduguri, Borno State, following severe flooding that has submerged communities and displaced many families. The directive was given in response to the escalating situation as heavy rains continue to cause widespread flooding in the region.

President Tinubu instructed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other relevant agencies to coordinate efforts for a swift and efficient evacuation of residents from the affected areas to safer locations. Additionally, he called for the provision of relief materials, including food, medical supplies, and temporary shelters, to support those affected by the disaster.

Local authorities and emergency response teams are already on the ground, working to rescue stranded individuals and provide immediate aid. The President emphasized the need for urgent action to mitigate the impact of the flooding and ensure the safety of all citizens in Maiduguri and other vulnerable areas in Borno State.
