In a significant diplomatic meeting, Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aged 71, is currently in discussions with Senegal’s newly inaugurated President, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, aged 44, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
President Faye, who assumed office on April 2, 2024, arrived at the State House around 3 pm, where he was welcomed by military band pipers before proceeding to the Nigeria leader’s office for a private meeting.
This marks President Faye’s first official visit to Nigeria since taking office.
The announcement of the visit was made by Tinubu’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, who shared a video showcasing the State House adorned with flags of both Senegal and Nigeria.
In his post, Dada highlighted, “The Presidential Villa, Abuja, is bustling with activity ahead of the courtesy visit of the President of the Republic of Senegal, H.E Bassirou Diomaye Faye to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the State House.”
