The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has formalized a major gas sale agreement with the Dangote Refinery, marking a key step in strengthening Nigeria’s domestic gas supply chain. This deal, aimed at supporting the energy needs of the $19 billion refinery project in Lagos, underscores NNPCL’s commitment to facilitating local industrial growth and reducing dependence on imported fuel.
Under the terms of the agreement, NNPCL will supply natural gas to power Dangote Refinery’s operations, enabling steady production of refined petroleum products to meet Nigeria’s demand and boost exports. The partnership aligns with the federal government’s vision of utilizing Nigeria’s vast natural gas reserves to drive economic development, reduce carbon emissions, and promote energy self-sufficiency.
