The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, has announced a major restructuring of Nigeria’s education system, implementing an 80-20 learning model aimed at prioritizing hands-on experience. Under this new approach, students will engage in 80% practical education, with only 20% focused on theory.
The shift is part of a broader effort to better prepare students for real-world challenges and foster job-ready skills, addressing longstanding concerns about the employability of Nigerian graduates.
