The Nigeria Police Force has arrested popular singer and owner of Marlian Record label, Naira Marley following the ongoing investigation into the death of late singer Mohbad.
CRUX NEWS reports that Naira Marley had last week in a statement on his Instagram page, stating that he is making arrangements to return to Nigeria to honour police invitation following the ongoing investigation into the death of singer Mohbad.
Mohbad, a former Marlian Records signee, died September 12 2023 in a controversial manner.
Following the controversies surrounding his death, Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry was accused of having a hand in Mohbad’s sudden death after a series of documents and videos of the duo subjecting Mohbad to a relentless bully for leaving the Record label surfaced on social media.
Announcing Marley arrest on Tuesday evening in a post on his official X, the Lagos State Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin wrote; “Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley has been taken into custody for interrogation and other investigation activities.
“#justice4Mohbad #justiceforMohbad.”
