The federal government has extended the free train ride for Nigerians until Sunday, January 7, 2024.
Initially approved by President Bola Tinubu in the spirit of the yuletide, the free train rides were set to take place from December 21, 2023, to January 4, 2024.

Additionally, the federal government was to cover 50% of the transport fares for interstate road travelers during the Yuletide season.
The government also added that the logistics for the implementation have been coordinated between the Minister of Transportation and transport unions.
