Public Holidays Announced for Festive Season
The Federal Government has officially declared Wednesday, December 25, 2024, Thursday, December 26, 2024, and Wednesday, January 1, 2025, as public holidays to observe Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day, respectively.

Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, announced this on behalf of the government. In his statement, which was penned by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, he extended heartfelt congratulations to all Nigerians. He encouraged everyone to use this festive period to contemplate on the core values of love, peace, and unity that these holidays represent.
