The Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders (CONYL), a prominent organization representing youth groups across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, has formally endorsed Seyi Tinubu for the position of Lagos State Governor in 2027.
In a statement released in Owerri on Tuesday, CONYL leaders, including President General Comrade Goodluck Ibem, Secretary Comrade Junard Abubakar, Public Relations Officer Comrade Iniobong Sampson, and Publicity Secretary Comrade Adeyemo Adewale, shared the resolution reached at a recent enlarged meeting of their leadership.
The group highlighted the transformational achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his tenure as Lagos State Governor, which they credited with elevating the state to its “Center of Excellence” status. They expressed confidence that Seyi Tinubu, as his son, would not only sustain his father’s legacy but also surpass it.
“Nigerian youths came to this conclusion because Lagos State has been a home for all Nigerians, and who becomes the governor of the state is pivotal given the role the state has played since the inception of the country,” the statement read.
CONYL emphasized Seyi Tinubu’s leadership qualities, innovative ideas, and proven track record, arguing that these attributes position him as the ideal candidate to govern Lagos State. They described him as “gifted, qualified, experienced, well-read, and capable” of leading the state toward greater development.
The coalition also urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to heed the aspirations of Nigerian youths by supporting Seyi Tinubu’s candidacy, showcasing what Nigerian youths can achieve when given the opportunity.
As part of their advocacy, the group called for youth-centric leadership that would continue to solidify Lagos State’s status as a progressive hub and a model for governance in Nigeria.
