The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of an additional 531 results from the recently conducted Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).
This brings the total number of released results to 1,842,897, according to a statement by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Public Communication Advisor of the Board.
Benjamin revealed that the Board had undertaken the screening of over 64,000 withheld results due to instances of examination misconduct. During the process, 92 cases of examination misconduct were identified, an increase from the initial 81 discovered.
Additionally, the Board is currently addressing cases of unverified candidates and will soon provide updates on the matter. Benjamin warned against false publications alleging that an unidentified candidate obtained scores in the 2024 UTME, emphasizing that such claims are baseless and aimed at undermining the Board’s integrity.
He highlighted the importance of candidates safeguarding their personal information and cautioned against disclosing classified details to third parties. In response to allegations of result tampering, Benjamin urged individuals making such claims to provide evidence for verification.
To further enhance result security, the Board plans to introduce additional features such as registration numbers to the UTME result checking process. Benjamin emphasized the importance of adhering to the official result checking method, which involves sending UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019, and not through any other means.
He clarified that the results are currently not available on the Board’s website, reinforcing the Board’s commitment to protecting the integrity of its systems and processes against malicious actors. Benjamin cautioned candidates against associating with individuals attempting to manipulate results, warning of consequences for collaboration.
The Board remains resolute in its efforts to maintain transparency and credibility in the examination process, ensuring fairness for all candidates.
