Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo of Kano state has faulted Ex-Governor Abdullaahi Ganduje’s led administration over the #500 billion debt incurred.
The deputy governor said this at the North-West Zonal Meeting of the New Nigerian People Party (NNPP), which he chaired.
While highlighting the notable achievements of the government since their assumption of his, he pointed out that a huge setback was the high profile debt inherited from the previous administration.
He stated that, though the debt was initially valued to be #300 billion, however, ongoing verification processse indicates that the debt may be in excess of #500 billion.

He said, “We came into office inheriting a government that left us with nothing but debt. Initially, it was N300 billion, but now it is approaching N500 billion, and we are still counting. Once we complete the assessment, we will inform Nigerians, especially our fellow Kano residents, about the total debt left behind.”
He also commended the efforts of his principal officer, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his judicious use of the limited available state resources while also assuring party chieftains and members, that the NNPP led government in Kano state would not fail their citizens.
