Comedian, Bright Okpocha, popularly known Basketmouth has finally apologised to his colleague, Ayodeji Richard Makun, better called AY following their 17-year-old beef.
Recall that the duo have been in the news over their lingering feud.
In 2021, Basketmouth, during a Black Box interview with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, explained that he fell out with AY because “he messed with loyalty.
“To be honest, I don’t want that guy (AY) to ever hear from me.”
Responding to him in his interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo in May 2023, AY attributed their rift to a business transaction that went sour in 2006.
However, Basketmouth, who is trying to sell tickets for his upcoming show in November 2023, sought forgiveness from comedian AY and other people he might have offended.
Taking responsibility for the rift in video on his Instagram page on Monday, Basketmouth tendered a heartfelt apology.
He said: “Now to all the people that I have offended in the industry and beyond. I’m genuinely sorry from the bottom of my heart, please forgive me.
“Now to my guy AY, I don’t know if my apology is still valid right now but if it is, please forgive me for whatever I have said or done in the past that affected you. And I have forgiving you too. I just wanted us to leave in peace and harmony.
“Now for the people who are assuming that this apology video is birthed because I have a show coming up on the 26th of November, I will like to say you are absolutely correct. But I’m truly sorry for everything.”
