Appointment Effective from February 2025
The National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) has officially announced the appointment of Ibrahim Atiku as the new substantive Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly. This decision was made public through a statement issued by NASC’s Executive Chairman, Ahmed Amshi, on Sunday.

The appointment, which will take effect from February 2, 2025, acknowledges Atiku’s significant contributions and administrative prowess. The official letter from the commission praised his dedication and encouraged him to maintain the trust placed in him.
Details of the Appointment
According to the statement, the decision was ratified at the NASC’s 616th meeting on December 19, 2024. The letter highlighted, “The National Assembly Service Commission, at its 616th meeting held on Thursday, 19th December 2024, approved your appointment as Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly, effective from 2nd February 2025.”
Atiku’s Previous Role and Qualifications
Prior to this elevation, Atiku held the position of Director, Finance and Account, at the House of Representatives, where he was celebrated for his exceptional leadership and service. An alumnus of Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto, Atiku is also a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management. He further enhanced his credentials with a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in legislative studies, showcasing his commitment to academic and professional excellence in his field.
