Former President Muhammadu Buhari has pledged his complete support for the success of his successor’s administration.
During a phone call with President Bola Tinubu, in which he wished him a happy 72nd birthday, Buhari expressed his commitment.
The commitment was revealed in a brief statement on Friday by the ex-presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, who also mentioned Buhari’s prayers for Tinubu’s good health.
Garba noted that following his public birthday message, the former president had a phone conversation with Tinubu, during which he praised Tinubu’s exceptional leadership.
“The former president reaffirmed his complete commitment to the success of the APC administration under President Tinubu,” concluded the statement.
“In this context, President Buhari fervently prayed for Tinubu’s success, stating that it is crucial to pray for a leader since his success and well-being benefit the nation as a whole, and emphasizing that the new administration’s achievements should be regarded as national successes.”
Earlier, governors extended their congratulations to the president, who turned 72 on Friday.
Among them were Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo, and Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki.
Joining in the birthday celebrations for the President was the National Chairman of the All-Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje.
In his congratulatory message, Governor Abiodun hailed Tinubu as the ideal leader for Nigeria during its economic crisis.
“Please accept my warmest congratulations and best wishes on your 72nd birthday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he stated.

“This significant milestone celebrates not just a remarkable life but also your extraordinary contributions to Nigeria’s growth and development.

Governor Adeleke, through his spokesperson Olawale Rasheed, commended Tinubu for his bold yet promising economic policies.
“President Tinubu is a distinguished leader, confronting the longstanding challenges of our nation and charting a course towards prosperity. With his leadership, Nigeria is moving away from a culture of waste and inefficiency, reinforcing our shared aspiration for progress and development.
