A second-class chief, Alhaji Umaru Buba Nyala, and 21 others were kidnapped in Pupule chiefdom, Taraba state.
The abductors, situated in the surrounding mountains, invaded the town, kidnapping the chief and others. According to reports, two police officers were among the 15 kidnapped.

The police, alongside a combined security team, are conducting a manhunt to apprehend the kidnappers and rescue the victims.
The mountainous terrain is identified as the location where the kidnappers reside and operate. Investigations and efforts to secure the release of the victims are ongoing.
