In a spectacular performance, Beau Greaves dominated her match against Ricardo Pietreczko in Group H at the Grand Slam of Darts, securing a crucial 5-1 victory that gives her a strong chance of progressing to the round of 16.
Greaves was unstoppable, scoring a series of maximums that helped her storm to a 3-0 lead.
Pietreczko managed to claim one leg with a brilliant 118 finish to break the throw, but Greaves held her nerve and produced a stunning 90 and 96 finishes to wrap up the final two legs and secure her first win of the tournament.
After the match, Greaves expressed her elation at the victory, saying, “I can’t really explain it. What a feeling. It is just great to finally get over the line. I scored really well. I have been playing really well, and it is just great to be the one who is in front. It is a relief I think.”
In another thrilling Group H match, Nathan Aspinall secured his place in the knockout rounds with an impressive 5-2 win over Damon Heta.
Aspinall took a commanding 4-0 lead early on, with brilliant 151 and 122 finishes giving him control of the game.
Heta fought back to bring the game to 4-2, but Aspinall stood strong, finally taking the victory on D8 after missing four match darts.
The loss for Heta means that his clash with Greaves on Monday is now set to be a winner-qualifies thriller.

Meanwhile, Gerwyn Price put in a dominant performance in Group D, cruising to a near-perfect 5-0 victory over Ryan Searle to secure his place in the round of 16.
Price was unstoppable on the trebles, producing a brilliant 121 checkout as he left Searle with no opportunities to get into the contest.
In Group B, Josh Rock secured his place in the knockouts with a commanding 5-1 win over Jonny Clayton.
Clayton struggled to find his rhythm in the match, and Rock took advantage, taking four legs in a row to seal the top spot in the group.
Elsewhere, Danny Noppert battled to a tough 5-3 win over Andrew Gilding in Group F, securing his second win of the tournament.
Nathan Rafferty got his campaign up and running in Group D with a 5-2 victory over Gian van Veen, while Brendan Dolan registered his first win of the tournament with a 5-2 victory over Haruki Muramatsu.
Finally, Chris Dobey held on to secure a thrilling 5-4 win against Berry van Peer in Group B, with van Peer fighting back from 3-1 down to bring the game level at 4-4 before Dobey sealed the victory in a last-leg decider.
