The Nigerian government has stated that talks are ongoing with the organizers of American Grammy Awards to establish an African version.
Hannatu Musawa, the Minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, made this known in a chat with Vanguard on Tuesday.
The minister explained that Nigeria, being the home of Afrobeats, must be counted one the founding members of African Grammys.
She mentioned that countries like Rwanda, South Africa and Kenya as being in the forefront, championing the move to establish an African Grammys version.
