Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji has ordered the suspension of his newly appointed Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Home Affairs, Olaiya Atibioke with immediate effect.
Olaiya, who was suspended on Saturday, barely one week in office, was inaugurated alongside 18 other commissioners on Tuesday.
The two week suspension, was announced in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode.

Oyebanji stated that the suspension follows the commissioner’s unauthorised departure from the three day retreat organised for members of the State Executive Council and Permanent Secretaries held in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital on Saturday.
“The Commissioner left the retreat without permission. He was nowhere to be found when signing the performance charter.”
The governor, who fully participated in all the sessions of the retreat, had earlier noted that there would be zero tolerance for indiscipline and poor performance.
