The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the State Specialist Hospital, Ikere-Ekiti, Dr. Olaolu Olubiyi, has been suspended owing to allegations of gross misconduct against him.
The State Ministry of Health and Human Services under the aeges of the Ekiti State Government had issues the suspension pending investigations into the allegations against him.
He has been immediately replaced by a Consultant, Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G), Dr. Akinsipe Catherine Iyabo.
According to a statement issued by the State Ministry of Health and Human Services, Dr. Olubiyi had been reportedly accused of gross misconduct contrary to Ekiti Public Service Rules 030301(ii) and 030402(x).
Hence, the state hospital management board deemed it necessary to debar him from any official duties until thorough investigation is carried out to ascertain his guilt or innocence.
Olubiyi’s suspension is an attestation to Gov. Biodun Oyebanji’s zero tolerance for violation of the Code of Conduct for Public Officers.
