Mopane worms play a significant role in the culinary traditions of various African communities, with a notable presence in Shona of Zimbabwe. The worms are harvested from mopane trees, where they feed on the leaves, contributing to their unique flavor.
The preparation:
Boil the mopane rms in a pot until they are soft.
Rinse them and add a cup of boiling water.
Add cooking oil.
Add onions, tomatoes, seasoning cubes, paprika and salt to taste.
Allow it to simmer until the mixture thickens.
Serve your mopane worms with sadza by the side and thank me later.
