A popular retail store in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Sahad, was on Friday sealed by the Federal Government.
The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), which sealed the popular supermarket in the Garki area of Abuja accused its management of shortchanging customers by charging prices other than the price tag at the shelves.
The closure is coming less than twenty hours after Thursday’s directive by President Bola Tinubu that security agencies should go after those hoarding food.
The president in a statement on Thursday by his spokesman, Chief Ajuri Ngelale also objected to the importation of food items to ease the escalating prices of food.
Tinubu instead ordered that those hoarding food should be apprehended while he expressed the commitment of his administration to assist local farmers to grow food internally.
