Former Kaduna State Lawmaker, Shehu Sani has advised President Bola Tinubu to work hard and fix the economy to avert what he described as organic protest “led by the hungry, the homeless, the unemployed, the downtrodden Nigerians”.
Sani gave the advice in his post on X on Friday in reaction to FG’s response to Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC)’s protest.
The federal government had told the Labour Union’s officials to wait till 2027 if they wanted to contest for the office of the president saying that the protest was uncalled for.
However, the NLC refuted Tinubu’s remark with a charge for him to address the hunger, unemployment, and inflation killing the economy, adding that nobody was after his office.
According to Sani, organized protests are not as dreadful as those staged by the unemployed, hungry, and homeless people who have nothing to lose, adding that the organic protest commences without notice.
“The most dreadful protests are not the controlled ones organised by the Labour Unions, the organised civil society or the opposition parties.
“The protests this country should work hard to avert are the organic ones led by the hungry, the homeless, the unemployed, the downtrodden, and the dregs of the streets; this kind of protest doesn’t come with notice of date of commencement or date of suspension, this protest is the kind led by people who have nothing to lose but their shackles; this is the kind of protest the Government and nation must avoid,” he wrote.
