Reportedly, suspected herdsmen launched an attack on the Nimbo community in the Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State on Sunday evening. The assault resulted in at least five fatalities and numerous injuries.
The reports indicate that the assailants targeted mourners in the Ugwuijoro Nimbo community, prompting a scramble for safety among the people.
While the police have not yet issued a statement regarding this incident, local residents have identified five individuals as victims of the heinous act.
The Nimbo community in Uzo-Uwani LGA became notorious in 2016 due to similar occurrences, where herders assaulted the community, resulting in numerous deaths and the complete devastation of the village.
