In a tragic incident on Friday night, gunmen targeted and killed Khalid Bichi, a middle-aged man employed by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), in the Maitama area of Abuja.
Reports indicate that Bichi was ambushed around 8:30 pm while on an errand to procure food. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and leg during the attack. Despite being rushed to Maitama General Hospital, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Known for his active presence on social media under the handle @Khalid Bichi, he was also noted to have connections with influential politicians.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, confirmed that investigations into the incident are underway.
Subsequently, on Saturday afternoon, Bichi was laid to rest following a funeral prayer held at the Abuja National Mosque.
The tragic event has left the community in shock and mourning as authorities continue to pursue justice for the senseless loss of life.
