Manchester City, the reigning European champions, are scheduled to face Urawa Red Diamonds in the semi-final of the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup.
The highly anticipated match is set to take place on Tuesday 19 December at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Urawa Red Diamonds, the Japanese side, secured their spot in the final four of this prestigious competition by defeating the Mexican team Club Leon 1-0 in a closely contested match at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium in Jeddah.
Alex Schalk’s 78th-minute goal proved to be the decisive moment of the game.
If Manchester City triumphs over Urawa Red Diamonds, they will progress to the final, which is scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. on Friday 22 December at the King Abdullah Sports City.

However, if they fall short in the semi-final, they will instead compete in a third-place play-off against the defeated side from the other semi-final, which is scheduled to take place at 2:30 p.m. on 22 December.
Manchester City, who secured their spot in the Club World Cup by winning the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the Club’s history in June, have a chance to make history by becoming the first English club to win the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup all in the same year.
Success in this tournament would be a monumental achievement for the club.
Furthermore, Manchester City’s Champions League triumph also ensured that they will participate in the expanded version of the tournament in the summer of 2025.
With so much at stake, fans of the club are eagerly anticipating their semi-final clash with Urawa Red Diamonds, which is just around the corner.
