The federal government of Nigeria has pledged to prioritize education for all Nigerian citizens.
This was disclosed by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, HoSF, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, during a work visit by Mayor of London, Borough of Southwark, Michael Situ, and his team to the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
The visit was to explore and discuss avenues of collaboration and student exchange programme.
Mayor Situ and his delegation from the United Kingdom were received by the representative of the HoSF, the Permanent Secretary, Career Management Office.
The HoSF epressed delight over the news of the visit, adding that education for all is a topmost priority of the Nigerian Government.
She also expressed gratitude to the Mayor on the focus on secondary school students as beneficiaries of the exchange programme between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, stressing that nurturing them was for the good of the nation.
“We need to get our children back to school to get quality education, in order to contribute favourably to the growth and development of our dear country,” she emphasized.
She added that the first pillar of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP-25), prioritizes human capital development and talent management, adding that learning is an unending adventure.
Also speaking, the Mayor explained that the visit is majorly aimed at seeking areas of partnership, and to also find ways on how both countries can be mutual beneficiaries.
Through this beneficial collaboration and student exchange programs with the United Kingdom, Nigeria is taking a significant step forward in creating a well-educated and skilled workforce that will contribute to the country’s progress.
