Two days after his resumption as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Barrister Nyesom Wike has reportedly approved the demolition of Garki, Jabi and 28 other slums in Abuja.
The affected areas have earlier been surveyed by the Federal Capital Development Authority, FCDA before this administration.
The demolition according to FCTA, will affect about 6,000 buildings which have been mapped out in an effort to rid the territory of shanties and illegal structures.
Crux News reports that Wike had during his first briefing after his inauguration on Monday, vowed that all illegal structures would be demolished and his administration was ready to end land speculations.
Areas marked for demolition according to information which has been authenticated by the FCTA are:

- Kado Village.

- Ketti Village.
- Kpaduma.
- Kabusa.
- Kpana Village.
- Kubwa.
- Lokogoma.
- Lugbe.
- Mabushi.
