The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) sealed the 4U Supermarket in Abuja due to management’s unfair practices.
The sealing occurred on Thursday as part of an enforcement exercise carried out by FCCPC officials in various parts of the capital city.
Officials of FCCPC were at several supermarkets in Abuja to initiate a campaign to enforce price display and quantity compliance.
The action is a direct response to consumer concerns regarding the escalating cost of goods, which contradicts the naira’s recent appreciation against major currencies.
The Commission has stated that price discrepancies continue to be a significant problem.
