Lance Stroll, the Aston Martin driver who finished just outside of the points in 11th position at the Qatar Grand Prix, has been issued a written warning by the FIA after his behaviour following Friday’s qualifying session.
According to sources, Stroll threw his steering wheel and did not follow the correct weighing protocols, leading to his actions being deemed inappropriate and against the FIA Code of Ethics and other FIA ethical and conduct guidelines set forth by the sporting regulations.
Crux News reports that the Canadian pushed his personal trainer aside as he left the garage after his Q1 exit for the fourth consecutive race.
Stroll’s disappointment was evident in a brief interview with F1, in which he gave six words to three questions.
The FIA has maintained a zero-tolerance stance against misconduct and condemned any actions that may lead to physical harassment.

The FIA Compliance Officer received an apology from Lance Stroll regarding his actions during the Grand Prix, which has been noted.
The written warning serves as a reminder to Stroll of his responsibilities as a competitor, and the FIA’s expectations of him as a professional driver.
Stroll’s teammate, Fernando Alonso, finished in sixth place and has started every race inside the top 10 this season, while Stroll achieved that feat only six times.
Alonso is 136 points ahead of Stroll, who missed the Singapore Grand Prix after a big crash in Q1.
Stroll’s multiple track limits penalties denied him from scoring his first points since the Belgian Grand Prix in July.
Sky Sports F1’s Naomi Schiff was among those to criticise Stroll’s behaviour after qualifying in Qatar.
Schiff said that Stroll’s behaviour was inappropriate and disrespectful towards his team members, who work hard to ensure that he is able to perform at his best.
She added that while Stroll’s disappointment was understandable, his behaviour was unacceptable and that he should have acted more professionally.
