Former CBN Governor Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has expressed support for the relocation of some departments of the apex bank from Abuja to Lagos.
Sanusi dismissed opposition to the move, stating it is an “eminently sensible move” and questioning the necessity of political resistance.

He emphasized that relocating certain functions to the larger Lagos office makes strategic sense, mentioning that he had considered a similar move during his tenure.
Sanusi criticized the opposition as driven by individuals prioritizing their Abuja lifestyle over their CBN roles. He urged the Governor to be decisive in addressing such elements for the bank’s future.
