Liverpool finally broke the deadlock in the 74th minute when Salah converted from the spot after a handball from Michael Keane.

Despite the defeat, Everton put in a valiant effort, especially considering they played with 10 men for over an hour.
The Toffees were unlucky not to be awarded a red card for Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate, who brought down Beto just minutes after receiving a yellow card.
The incident sparked controversy, with Burnley manager Sean Dyche, who was watching the game, expressing his frustration at the decision.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was pleased with his team’s performance, praising the impact of young winger Harvey Elliott who replaced Kostas Tsimikas at the hour mark.

Klopp’s decision to make the substitution proved to be a good one, as Elliott created several opportunities and caused problems for the Everton defence.
Salah’s two goals took his tally to eight against Everton in the Premier League, making him the second-highest scorer for Liverpool in this fixture, behind Steven Gerrard.
Everton’s Ashley Young became the third-oldest player to be sent off in a Premier League game after Stuart Pearce and Phil Jagielka.
Liverpool’s victory sees them return to the top of the Premier League table, while Everton’s struggles continue, having won just seven points from their first nine games.
