In an exciting Premier League match, Liverpool secured a convincing 3-0 win over Brentford, moving them level on points with Manchester City and Arsenal at the top of the table.
The star of the match was Mohamed Salah, whose two goals took his tally to 200 goals in English football.
Salah’s first goal came in the first half, where he showed his impressive form by scoring or setting up a goal in 15 consecutive Anfield Premier League appearances, joining the likes of Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry in a record streak.
He then went on to score his 200th goal by nodding in a well-placed shot after the break, with Diogo Jota thumping in Liverpool’s third goal from the edge of the box to seal the win.
Liverpool showed an authoritative performance throughout the match, with two Darwin Nunez efforts in the first half ruled out for offside.
They also managed to put their frustrating recent results against Luton and Toulouse behind them, securing their sixth-straight Premier League win at home this season.
The Anfield factor proved to be a crucial platform for Liverpool to battle with their top-level competitors, such as Manchester City and Arsenal, and dream of another title tussle.

Brentford, who arrived at Anfield with their winning streak, created some dangerous moments of their own and recorded a better Expected Goals total than Liverpool.
However, Alisson produced a big save from a Bryan Mbeumo one-on-one at 0-0, and the much-improved hosts had too much quality in the final third.
Brentford are now ninth, a place ahead of Chelsea who hosted City in the late afternoon kick-off.
Despite Brentford’s early optimistic moments, Liverpool dominated most of the game, with Nunez twice seeing his celebrations cut short with the sight of an offside flag.
Salah, who missed a good chance from close range just before the interval, left the pitch at half-time shaking his head.
However, he would have his second just after the hour mark, heading in at the back post after Tsimikas rescued the ball from going out.
After Liverpool had their cushion, they kicked on to secure the unassailable lead.
An entertaining game ended with Virgil van Dijk clearing from his goalmouth after Norgaard’s flick-on, Alisson saving from Pinnock, and Mark Flekken having to be sharp at the other end to prevent Harvey Elliott or Dominik Szoboszlai from adding a fourth.
This win brings optimism to the red half of Merseyside as they go into the international break.
