Nottingham Forest Football Club has parted ways with Steve Cooper, who served as the head coach of the team.
The club’s recent performance has been the reason for Cooper’s dismissal.
Nottingham Forest has experienced five losses in their last six Premier League games, which includes a 2-0 defeat against Tottenham last Friday.
Cooper joined Nottingham Forest in September 2021 when the team was at the bottom of the Championship.
However, he managed to lead the team to playoff success that season, beating Huddersfield in the final at Wembley.
In the following season, Cooper helped Forest remain in the Premier League with a 1-0 win against Arsenal at home in May.
Since returning to the top flight, many players have joined the squad under Cooper’s leadership.

Notably, former Wolves and Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo is the leading contender to replace Cooper at the City Ground.
Julen Lopetegui, former boss of Wolves, and Oliver Glasner, former Eintracht Frankfurt coach, are also under consideration for the position.
Evangelos Marinakis, the owner of Nottingham Forest, announced Cooper’s dismissal and expressed his gratitude towards the former coach.
Marinakis thanked Cooper for his fantastic contribution to the club, especially for guiding Forest back to the Premier League, which remains an iconic moment in the club’s history.
Marinakis also acknowledged Cooper’s dedication and commitment during his time with the club.
He praised the connection Cooper had forged with the supporters and the city of Nottingham.
Despite the dismissal, Cooper is welcome at The City Ground and will remain a friend of the club. Nottingham Forest wishes him well in his future endeavours.
