A High Court in Kano State has issued a permanent injunction preventing the deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, and four other former Emirs from using their royal titles. The ruling was delivered on Monday by Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu.
The judgment specifically restricts the former Emirs of Bichi, Rano, Gaya, and Karaye, along with their servants and agents, from presenting themselves as Emirs.
This decision follows a lawsuit filed by the Kano State government aimed at halting the deposed Emirs from continuing to use their titles and occupying their palaces.

The government had also issued a 48-hour ultimatum for the former Emirs to vacate their respective palaces after their deposition.
This ruling marks a significant victory for Emir Sanusi in the ongoing dispute over the traditional titles and roles within the Kano State emirate.
