International Afro-Pop singer, songwriter and record producer, David Adeleke, who is professionally known as Davido, has donated N237 million to 424 Orphanages and Paroche Reach Out Foundation to prevent drug abuse.
The American-born Nigerian singer Periscope News understands made the donation through the Davido Charity Foundation for Orphanages.
A statement noted that the donation was in fulfillment of the promise made last year on his 2022 birthday.
The donation represents his 2022 Annual Davido Birthday Gifts to Orphanages.

Davido also in 2022 donated N250 million to 292 orphanage homes in all the States in Nigeria, including the FCT.
He had asked his friends and colleagues in the industry to donate a million naira each and he received N200 million within hours.
He added N50 million, to make the whole sum N250 million, the Afro pop star donated it to orphanages in Nigeria.
The superstar, in recognition of his was recently honoured by the City of Houston in the United States which designated July 7 as “Davido Day.”
Mayor Sylvester Turner of Houston officially declared the special day in a statement released from Houston, Texas.
The proclamation reads, “I, Sylvester Turner, Mayor of the city of Houston, do hereby proclaim July 7, 2023, as Davido Day.”
The mayor said the honour bestowed upon Davido by the city of Houston highlights his significant contributions to the music industry, both in Nigeria and internationally.
