Emmanuel Myam, also known as Emmiwuks, had been dreaming of meeting his favorite singer, Davido, for years. He had been following the singer’s music since his debut album and had become an overzealous fan.
So, when he heard that Davido was not in the country, he decided to take matters into his own hands.
Emmiwuks embarked on a road trip from Benue State to Lagos on his bicycle, determined to meet his idol. It was a long and grueling journey, but he was determined to see it through. He faced many challenges along the way, including bad roads, harsh weather conditions, and even a few close calls with traffic.

But he persevered, driven by his love for Davido’s music. After several days of cycling, he finally arrived in Lagos on Friday, August 18, 2023, to a thunderous welcome by the Tiv community in the state.
Olikita Ekani, a former media aide to the immediate past Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, announced Emmiwuks’ arrival via his Facebook page. He wrote about the fan’s journey and his heroic welcome by Mdzough U Tiv Lagos State members and Benue Chubby Queen Miss Kpadoo Upev and other well-wishers.
Despite Davido’s initial reluctance to meet him, Emmiwuks’ determination had paid off. The singer had sent him a token of appreciation and had even pledged to meet him when he returned to the country.
Emmiwuks’ story had inspired many people, and he had become a symbol of hope and perseverance. His journey had shown that with determination and hard work, anything was possible. And as he basked in the glory of his achievement, he knew that his dream of meeting Davido had finally come true.
