Covenant University (CU) has been named Nigeria’s top university in the Times Higher Education (THE) 2024 Rankings. The global ranking, which includes 1,907 universities from 108 countries, placed CU within the 801-1000 band, alongside the University of Ibadan (UI).
The rankings are based on 18 carefully calibrated performance indicators, which measure institutions across five key areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry, and international outlook. This year’s ranking analyzed over 134 million citations from 16.5 million research publications and included survey responses from 68,402 scholars worldwide.
Globally, the University of Oxford topped the list for the eighth consecutive year, followed by Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Harvard University, and the University of Cambridge.
