Two men, Basil Eze and Awaisu Jibrin were on Friday sentenced to a three-month imprisonment each by a Karu Upper Area Court, sitting in Abuja for defamation of character.
The judge, Malam Isa Adamu, convicted the two, both residents of Garki area of Abuja after pleading guilty to the charge.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Olanrewaju Osho told the court that the complainant, Yakubu Tijani reported the matter at the Garki police station on October 4.
Osho said that the defendants accused the complainant of “shrinking “ their genitals after he approached them for a directions to a street.
However, during police investigation, the police said the convicts were taken to hospital, where it was confirmed that their genitals were not “stolen”.
The offence, he said contravened the provisions of Section 392 of the Penal Code.
The court however gave the convicts an option of N10,000 fine each.
