A magistrate’s court in Jos Metropolitan Development Board, JMDB, has revoked the bail granted to one suspected organ harvester, Dr Noah Kekere.
CRUX NEWS reports that Kekere was in September, accused of harvesting the kidneys of his two patients during operation at his Murna Clinic and Maternity, located in Yanshanu community of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The Nigerian Medical Association has since disowned the suspect.
On Tuesday, a JMDB magistrate’s court presided by Joseph Chollom, granted the suspect bail.
However, family members of the victims, the police command and the state Ministry of Justice kicked against the bail.
Joel Tahvan, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Justice had on Wednesday, accused the magistrate of complicity, explaining that the bail was granted without prosecution.
Subsequently, Magistrate Chollom, on Thursday, revoked the bail after Kekere was re-arrested and brought to the court by the police.
The Chief Magistrate ordered that the suspect be remanded.
